Homemade Veggie Pizza

Embark on a mouthwatering journey of creating a homemade veggie pizza that bursts with colors, flavors, and nourishment with me! This delightful recipe celebrates the goodness of fresh vegetables, oozy mozzarella cheese, and the joy of creating your pizza masterpiece. Let's fire up the oven and get started!

Ingredients:

For the Pizza Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 packet active dry yeast

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 3/4 cup warm water

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • A pinch of salt

For the Veggie Toppings:

  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach leaves

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Sauce and Seasoning:

  • 1 cup tomato sauce or your favorite pizza sauce

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • Freshly ground black pepper and a pinch of salt to taste

Instructions:

Step 1: Prep the Pizza Dough In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy. Add olive oil and a pinch of salt. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic. Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about an hour.

Step 2: Roll Out the Dough Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape and thickness. For a crispy crust, roll it out thin, and for a softer crust, keep it a bit thicker.

Step 3: Layer on the Goodness Place the rolled-out dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone lined with parchment paper. Spread the tomato sauce evenly across the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle dried oregano, basil, and a dash of black pepper and salt over the sauce for extra flavor.

Step 4: Add the Veggie Medley Now, it's time for the star of the show - the veggies! Generously layer the thinly sliced red bell peppers, red onions, and fresh baby spinach leaves over the sauce. This colorful combination not only looks vibrant but also adds a plethora of nutrients to your pizza.

Step 5: Embrace the Cheesy Bliss Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese over the veggie toppings. The gooey cheese will bind all the flavors together and create a luscious melty goodness.

Step 6: Bake and Enjoy Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the crust turns golden brown, and the cheese bubbles and melts to perfection. Once it's done, take a moment to admire your homemade masterpiece before slicing it up and savoring each delectable bite.

Congratulations! You've just created a wholesome veggie delight that's not only delicious but also packed with nutrients. The combination of vibrant red peppers, sweet onions, and nutrient-rich spinach, all topped with oozy mozzarella, creates an explosion of flavors on your taste buds. This homemade veggie pizza is a celebration of freshness and a treat for your body and soul. Enjoy with your loved ones and remember, the possibilities are endless when it comes to homemade pizza creations! Bon appétit!
